Witness Appeal Over Fatal Crash

Police want to hear from any witnesses to a fatal crash on the London-bound carriageway of the A299 Thanet Way near Faversham.

At 9.09am yesterday (Monday), a 54-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car transporter as he stood next to a grey Porsche Boxster which was parked off the carriageway.

Police officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.   

The road was closed for almost nine hours while investigation work was carried out at the scene.

Now officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the car transporter or the man standing next to the Porsche immediately prior to the collision.
