Battle it out at Hever Castle

Stop the kids from squabbling this summer holidays and instead take them to watch  the knights and archers battle it out at Hever Castle.

This summer Hever Castle are staging a spectacular schedule of jousting tournaments and archery demonstrations and your family could be enjoying all the fun.

Jousting Tournaments

Dates: August 13th, 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd, 27th & 28th

The Knights of the Blue Order, spurred on by the cheers of the crowds, will be taking on their arch rivals from the Red Banner in a series of exhilarating full gallop jousts. The fantastic display of action, stunts, falls and fights bring the medieval sport of jousting to life. 

Longbow Warfare

Dates:  August 7th, 8th, 29th and 30th

The Company of 1415 will start the show with a bang by firing a pair of cannon to mark the commencement of battle. 

A field of archers, men-at-arms and knights in full plate armour will be demonstrating a variety of medieval archery and martial arts skills, both on foot and on horseback.

Spectators can get involved with a volunteer being sought to have an apple shot off their head¬ While youngsters can find out how a knight would be dressed for battle and try on pieces of armour for themselves.
