Eek! This Couple Sent Out Wedding Invitations That Look Like A Court Summons
These guests had the shock of their lives!
The opening of a wedding invitation is usually a joyous occasion. They’re tasteful, pretty – and everyone loves a wedding, right?
But this particular wedding invitation, which has done the rounds online, might give you something of a fright!
It was uploaded to image sharing site Imgur by an American user calling themselves Exsupervillain, who wrote the caption: “My aunt is marrying a sheriff. Their invitation nearly gave everyone a heart attack.”
Imagine receiving a stern-looking enveloped stamped with the words, “Notice To Appear”. You might think it was, at best, a speeding ticket and, at worst – well, it all depends on how clear your conscience is…
Inside, the invitation bears a sheriff’s stamp logo and details the “location of ceremony”, promising “RECEPTION, DANCING TO FOLLOW”.
The image has been viewed almost a million times, with cheeky comments pouring in from Imgur users who’ve been tickled by the inventive invitation.
“You should get them handcuffs for the wedding night”, one wrote suggestively.
Another joked: “You been served.”
A slightly grammatically challenged Imgur member wrote: For the wedding reception, they will have donughts [sic] for the guests due to the grom [sic] having to search the cake for the file.”
Let’s hope the catering is better than prison food. Congratulations guys, hope you have a long and happy sentence together!
