Big Wedding Weekend

Get married or renew your vows at Southbank Centre, 30th-31st August

To celebrate the year in which same sex marriage became legal, Southbank Centre is creating the Big Wedding Weekend this summer - a new kind of wedding for a new era.

All couples, gay or straight, young or old, are invited to marry or renew their vows on the stage of the iconic Royal Festival Hall followed by bubbly, all day dancing and entertainment, an optional wedding buffet and the opportunity for you and your guests to enjoy the wonderful riverside setting at Southbank Centre.

How it works:
There are eight ceremonies over the weekend of Saturday 30 – Sunday 31 August 2014, daily at 11am, 1.15pm, 3.30pm and 5.45pm.
Each ceremony lasts for ninety minutes and includes all twenty couples who declare their vows separately in front of their family, guests and registrars. This is followed by music, dancing and entertainment for the rest of the day and evening. It’s an amazing, emotional and unique celebration – a wedding like no other! And without the costs that make wedding days so difficult to plan.

There are two open evenings for interested couples to come and visit Royal Festival Hall and ask questions about Big Wedding Weekend and the packages on offer.
Thursday 26 June, 6pm – 9pm
Tuesday 22 July, 6pm – 9pm
