Boris Johnson has confirmed 63 police stations in London are to close.

The reforms will instead see 100 new "contact points" created in places like libraries and hospitals, where people can report crime.

Boris Johnson has today published his final Police and Crime Plan.

The Mayor's Office says there will also be 2,600 more officers in neighbourhood teams to boost local policing by 2015.

It follows an eight week public consultation which included town hall meetings in every London borough, giving local people the chance to air their views and influence the plan.
