Bow Murder - Two Years On

The mum of a teenager who died in in Bow has exclusively told London's Heart the convictions over Stephen Lawrence's murder has given her hope her own son's attackers will be caught

Isschan Nicholls from Poplar was attacked by a gang of around fifteen young people in Parnell Road armed with baseball bats and pieces of wood.

A reward of up to £20,000 is still on offer for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of those responsible for Isschan death in 2010.

Isschan's mum Jennifer Williams has made an emotional appeal to those with information.

"We will never be able to overcome Isschan's death. All we are asking for is help in bringing his killers to justice. We know there were numerous people who were present when Isschan was stabbed. It is hard to understand why no one has come forward to help the police with their enquiries. We can't comprehend that there is some kind of ethic where it is cool "not to snitch" on murderers. We need anyone with information to come forward, to help us and the police find out what happened that night, 13 January 2010, and to make sure these people are brought to justice."

She went on to add that the successful conviction of two men in the Stephen Lawrence murder case has given them hope for justice "no matter how many years it takes."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8721 4054 Or if you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
