Bromley Murder Investigation

A 30 year old man's been charged with murdering a pensioner found dead in south-east London.

Daniel Atkins, 30, from Laurel Court, Cambridge Road, Bromley has appeared in court accused of murdering the 71 year old in Bromley on Sunday 2 March 2014.

Police were called around 10.40am to reports of a firearm and weapons at an address on Cambridge Road, Bromley.

Armed officers were sent to the scene and discovered the body of a 71-year-old man. He was pronounced dead at the scene by London Ambulance Service.

While officers believe they know who the victim is, they said he had yet to be formally identified and officers were still informing all next of kin.

Police said no firearm was found and there was nothing to suggest that firearms had been used.
