Calls for tougher cycle death sentences

A senior Met Police officer says motorists who cause deaths on the roads should face tougher sentences.

The head of the Met Police road death investigation unit, Detective Chief Inspector John Oldham has also told The Times more cyclists will be killed unless the way London is structured is changed.

Causing death by danergrous driving has a maximum term of 14 years compared with up to life for manslaughter.
