A man has died after part of a wall collapsed at a building site in east London.
Emergency services were called to the site in Westferry Road on the Isle of Dogs at around 9am today (Wednesday 3 December).
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the victim, believed to have been in his 30s, died a short time later.
The spokesman said: "At this early stage it is understood the man received his injuries after a wall collapsed at the scene."
The London Ambulance Service was also called to the scene.
A spokesman said: "We sent a single responder by car, an ambulance crew, the hazardous area response team, a duty officer and London's air ambulance.
"We arrived at the scene within five minutes. Sadly, despite extensive efforts to resuscitate the patient, a man was pronounced dead at the scene by the doctor."
The Health and Safety Executive is investigating the incident.
