Cyclist Dies In Hit And Run In East London

A cyclist has died after being hit by a car in east London that is believed to have been racing another vehicle at the time.

The 32-year-old man was injured in the collision just after 10pm last night (Monday 24 November) and died later in hospital.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident at Commercial Road's junction with Cavell Street.

Scotland Yard said: "The vehicle that collided with the victim is believed to have been racing with another car when it collided with the victim. The car did not stop at the scene.

"A car that was suspected of being involved in the collision has been located but officers would still like to hear from any witnesses to the incident."

Police said the victim's next of kin had been informed.
