Fire Crews To Strike On Bonfire Night

The Prime Minister's condemned as "irresponsible" plans by firefighters in London to strike over Bonfire Night, and Labour leader Ed Miliband has said he will not support the industrial action either, because it's 'too dangerous'.

Firefighters are due to start a 47 hour strike at 10am on November the 5th, before that, another 8 hour strike is planned for next Monday.

The Fire Brigades Union claims they're being threatened with the sack if they don't agree to new shift patterns.

The London Fire Brigade says no jobs are under threat and the changes will make the service more efficient.

Mayor Boris Johnson says contingency plans are being put in place and Londoners should be confident that they can go ahead with their fireworks parties.
