Firefighters Strike Dates Announced

Firefighters in London are to stage 2, 8 hour strikes in a row over new contracts.

Members of the Fire Brigades Union will walk out on October 23rd from 10am and again on November the 1st.

It had given London Fire Brigade until today to withdraw letters that it said effectively sacked firefighters, to be re-employed on worse terms.

London Fire Brigade says it has contingency plans in place.
