A new survey's named Oxford Street as the best place in the world for high street fashion, beating the likes of Fifth Avenue in New York and Paris' Champs Elysee.

A report from fashion bible Drapers says London's busiest shopping street is number one for affordable, designer-driven fashion.

It comes at the start of the busiest month for clothes shopping outside of Christmas, with 140 million pounds expected to be spent on Oxford Street this week alone.

And with 2.6 million shoppers expected to hit the stores this week, 24 Oxford Street retailers are starting the second annual High Street Fashion Week which will feature fashion events and promotions.
