Just One Day Good Service On Tube

Transport for London ran a "good service" across the entire Tube network for just one day in the past year.

The Evening Standard is reporting that the only day the tube operated without delays or suspensions was 11th May 2010.

TfL claim the Tube is carrying record numbers of passengers - and that every day only a tiny percentage are affected by delays. They also told London's Heart the tube performance is getting better all the time, but it's essential they carry out upgrade work.

Tony Travers, director of the Greater London Group at the London School of Economics says there's two sides to the argument. He said: "There is no doubt that the tube is old and that politicians have under-invested in it over a number of decades, which has left the Tube as an antique.

"However, whether it deserves, after several years of high spending, this kind of result is less certain."
