London's Tate & Lyle sold to the US

London based sugar company Tate and Lyle which brought the sugar cube to Britain in the 1800s is set to fall into US hands.

A £210m deal's been made for the company which has factories in Plaistow and Silvertown.

The company first began putting Golden Syrup into its famous green and gold tins in 1885 after it proved an instant success with customers.
