Man Dies In Flat Fire

A man's been found dead following a fire at a block of flats in Croydon.

Fire crews were called to a fire in a block of flats on Addiscombe Road on the morning of Monday 18 May 2015.

Firefighters managed to confine the fire to a flat on the ground floor of the four-storey building, which was partly damaged by the fire.

The body of an elderly man was found in the ground floor flat. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the London Ambulance Service.

Two fire engines and ten firefighters and officers from Croydon and Woodside fire stations attended.

The Brigade was called at 10.30am and the fire was under control at 11.00am.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
