Men Jailed For Diamond Ring Robberies

Three men have been jailed after carrying out a series of violent robberies targetting mothers wearing diamond rings in south west London...

33 year old Anton Lord from Croydon, Christopher Byom (28) from Surrey Lane Estate, and 26 year old Perrie Williams from Wandsworth Common West Side attacked eight women in Clapham, Battersea and the Fulham Road area between October 2010 and March 2011. 

A court heard how the men strangled their victims before stealing their jewellery to sell on. 

Detectives described the gang as one of the most dangerous in London in recent years - they've been sentenced to a total of 46 years. 

During the robberies the men put all women were put in a strangle-hold and forced to the ground, they were then suffocated until they had taken all of their jewellery - usually in front of young children.

All the victims suffered severe strangulation injuries , many passed out during attacks, one woman needed reconstructive surgery to her jaw.

During the investigation detectives discovered that the gang would sell the stolen jewellery in the Hatton Garden diamond markets and take themselves and their girlfriends on shopping sprees.
