Men Jailed for "SAS-Style" Robberies

A gang who raided shops and building societies in London and across East Anglia has been jailed.

Six men convicted over a series of "SAS-style" robberies have been jailed.

The gang, armed with machetes, firearms and Tasers, raided building societies and shops in east London, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.

The ringleader, 20 year old Danny Speed from Beckton has been jailed for 20 years after being convicted in January.

Mark Richards, 30, of South Hall Drive, Rainham, Essex, was jailed for 13 years.

The other defendants were convicted for robbery offences between 2007 and 2009 amounting to £500,000 in cash being stolen, as well as the theft of a significant number of high-performance vehicles.
