Another 50,000 Olympic tickets have gone on sale to the general public, including seats in hospitality suites originally meant for corporate clients.

Olympic organisers (LOCOG) say additional tickets to Gymnastics Artistic, Gymnastics Trampoline, Tennis, Basketball, Cycling Road, Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Taekwondo and Archery are now on sale at www.tickets.london2012.com or via phone at 0844 847 2012.

But in the week of Royal Ascot and ahead of Wimbledon next week, it appears official Olympic hospitality is failing to reach its intended corporate market. LOCOG are releasing some of the seats in the suites at the North Greenwich Arena (O2) for general sale but insist its due to the "high demand" to watch Basketball, Gymnastics Artistic, and Gymnastics Trampoline there.

Its also been confirmed tickets for other sports will just appear on the London 2012 official website as part of the re-sale process. Customers are advised to check the website regularly for the latest availability.

And as the finalisation continues of the Olympic venue seating plans, LOCOG say there are more tickets to come, believed to be another 200,000.

"More great tickets to watch Olympic sport have gone on sale today. Further tickets will be released on an almost daily basis from now until Games time. We encourage anyone interested in buying tickets to visit the ticketing website regularly to check the latest ticket availability" says LOCOG Commercial Director Chris Townsend.
