Plans For Olympic Cable Car

Plans have been put forward for a cable car across the Thames during the 2012 Olympics.

It would carry 2500 passengers an hour between Greenwich and the Royal Docks.

It comes as international Olympic inspectors are starting their regular check-up to see how the preparations are coming along for London 2012.

The president of the IOC was impressed that work on the Olympics stadium was so far advanced, and he wasn't worried about the 27 million pounds in cuts that the new Government's demanded, saying the budget is "lean but sound".
