City of London Police are investigating after a 13 year old girl was grabbed by a man in Cannon Street while walking to school.

She had been walking towards New Change at around 8am on Friday 27 September 2013.

Police say that as she approached the junction of New Change with Cannon Street, she was grabbed from behind by a man.  The man tried to drag the girl off the footpath and up some steps into the small park area.  The girl suffered some bruising and was left in a state of shock.

The girl was able to fight the man off and made her way to the nearest bus stop, where she got on a bus.

The man is described as a black man of scruffy appearance wearing a grey hooded jumper with the hood worn up.
