Travel Advice: Avoid Olympic Hotpots

We are being asked to avoid driving into Olympic hotspots as thousands of athletes, officials and media begin to arrive in London this week.

Transport for London is setting out it's travel advice and says roads are going to be extra busy, so avoid driving into central London, around the Olympic Route Network or near Games venues.

Meanwhile the first of the Games Lanes come into force on Monday 16th July.

The M4 lane will only be open to member of the "Olympic family", which includes athletes and dignatories as well as on-call emergency service vehicles.

It's to help VIPs avoid traffic between Heathrow to central London.
