Yuri Gagarin statue unveiled in London

A statue of Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, is unveiled on Mall later to mark the 50th anniversary of his achievement.

It's a present from the Russian Space Agency and will stay in London for a year.

The statue will be unveiled by the Russian cosmonaut's daughter, Jelena Gargarina, and will stand opposite one of Britain's greatest explorers, Captain James Cook.

Guests include Princess Michael of Kent and Alexei Leonov, the first man to walk in space.

Gagarin died in a plane crash in 1968, at the age of 34.
