Welcome to my baby blog

Hello and welcome to my baby blog. I’m expecting my first baby in January and I’ll keep you posted on how things are going over the coming months.

I’d love to hear from you if you’re also pregnant or if you have answers and advice to the many questions and worries that will undoubtably crop up!  So send me an email below.

Firstly, a huge congratulations to Jamie and his wife who gave birth to a baby boy yesterday.  Kit weighed in at a healthy 8 pounds 12 which is hardly surprising given his dad is 6’4.  I’m just a little smaller and currently, at 24 weeks, have a small-ish bump.  I, of course, think it’s enormous and am taking great pleasure in seeing my body changing. It’s all very strange, isn’t it?  I used to wonder what I would look like pregnant and then when it happens to you it’s amazing.  I still can’t believe there’s a little life growing in that tum of mine but over the last 10 days it (lets call it a ‘he’ for ease) has certainly been making his presence felt.

I almost think feeling those kicks are more surreal than having a scan.  Somehow even though you actually see what’s going on inside you, nothing beats feeling your baby kick for the first time in convincing you you really are going to have a baby. Judging by the kicks I’ve felt during the show so far, he’s a Take That fan and he thinks Jamie’s jokes are terrible.  I think we’re going to get along just fine.

Despite getting up at 4.30am for the show I’m not too exhausted as I treat myself to a long sleep in the afternoons.  I was lucky with morning sickness in the first trimester as it only affected me in the afternoons and even then not too dramatically. I was worried that I would be running to the bathrooms during records and trying to explain that away to Jamie. I think he suspected anyway as one of the first things to go when I found out was me being drip fed coffee throughout the show.  Jamie’s known me too long to believe any lines I feed him about being on a health kick!

It’s not all plain sailing though.  In the last week alone I seem to have lost the use of my stomach muscles so much so that my husband has to help me off the sofa and is clearly amused at my huffing and puffing up and down the stairs.  He’s being a dream, though, and is very excited about becoming a dad.  I’m excited about all the pampering I’m hoping to get from him as I get bigger and bigger.

Catch up with you again soon x
