Arsonist Jailed For Setting Home Alight

Trudy Musgrave has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for setting fire to her home in Milton Keynes

The police and fire service were called to Musgrave's home on Ramsons Avenue, Conniburrow on Saturday 24th September.

A fire had been started in the lounge.

The 41 year old was found on the balcony of the three story building, paramedics reported she was very drunk.

At Aylesbury Crown Court Musgrave pleaded guilty to starting the fire at the property owned by Milton Keynes Council.

Det Con Wendy Fellowes investigating the incident said:

"Musgrave deliberately set fire to her house without any regard for the safety of herself or her neighbours. Once she had started the fire, she went out onto her balcony and made no attempt to alert the emergency services"

Fellowes was pleased that a custodial sentence had been handed out. She thinks it reflects the seriousness of the offence.
