A disabled man was knocked out of his scooter after being hit on the head with a piece of wood.

The man was travelling along the Redway between Stacey Bushes and Two Mile Ash at 4.30 Wednesday afternoon (July 6th) when he was approached by four teenage boys.

One was verbally abusive and demanded he hand over his scooter. He was hit on the ead with a piece of wood and fell from his scooter.

Once he was on the ground, the boys pushed the scooter over and ran away.

The boys are black, in their mid-teens, 5ft 8ins and were wearing blue jeans and black leather jackets.

PC David Clifford-Smith  said: "This was a disgusting attack on a vulnerable man and I am very keen to speak with anyone who knows these boys or who may have witnessed the incident."
