A disabled pensioner has been attacked - after he asked a driver to stop verbally abusing his partner.

Police say it happened at 3.10pm on Wednesday 26th January, at the Sainsburys in Fenny Stratford.

Just before it happened, a dark saloon car appeared to swerve towards the victim's partner as she crossed the road. The car stopped just in time to avoid hitting her.

When the woman who was almost hit went to apologise to the car's driver, he was extremely verbally abusive towards her.

When the victim approached the car to complain about the driver's language, the driver punched him in the face, leaving him with a cut and swollen lip.

The car driver's described as being in his late 50s to early 60s with grey, combed-back, collar length hair. He is stocky and was wearing rounded, slightly tinted glasses.

Police say the area would have been busy with shoppers at the time and is asking anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch with PC Dan Marfleet on 08458 505505 or with Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
