A man's been hit over the head with a beer bottle during a fight in Oldbrook in Milton Keynes.

It happened on Sunday afternoon at about 5.30pm at the Cricket Pavilion in Oldbrook, which is opposite The Cricketers Pub.

Police say several men were involved in a fight, where metal poles and planks of wood were used as weapons.

The 53-year-old who was hit with the bottle sustained a cut to his head, which needed stitches.

Detective Constable Tejinder Sidhu, who's leading the investigation, said:

“It was a very warm day on Sunday and there were lots of people out and about on the playing fields by the pavilion. I am sure that there were numerous witnesses to the incident and I would ask anyone who saw the altercation take place to contact us. This was in broad daylight in full view of families enjoying a Sunday afternoon out and we want to identify those responsible.”
