This year's Midnight Moo for Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes has raised a record breaking amount for the charity.

The women who took part in the ten mile walk in July have raised £225,000 in sponsorship - beating the expected £150,000.

The money means Willen Hospice will now be able to fund nine nurses for another year to care for patients and their families in and around MK.

Pauline Mitchelmore, Event Organiser at Willen Hospice said: “We can’t believe what an udderly amazing amount has been raised, this is beyond anything we could have imagined – we are simply over the moon!  All we can say is a heartfelt thank you to the fantastic herd members, all those who sponsored them and to all the dedicated volunteers and sponsors who supported this event.  On behalf of our patients and their families, we thank you once again for your continuing support; your donations are already making a difference for our patients and their loved ones."

Paul Hinson, Chief Executive at Willen Hospice is delighted with the news:  “I am overwhelmed by the commitment and support people have given.  The MK Midnight Moo is only in its second year but has already become a huge event in the Milton Keynes calendar and attracts people from all over the country.  Thank you again to everyone that has given their time and efforts to help the Hospice.”

Next year’s MK Midnight Moo will take place on Saturday 16th July - you can register for the walk online at www.mkmidnightmoo.com.
