Playboat Needs Your Votes

The Milton Keynes Play Association's Creative Playboat is one of only 10 projects to make it through in the Best Education Project category of The National Lottery Awards, which are an annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects.

Kitted out with play materials, The Funion Bargee travels on the Grand Union Canal, visiting children and schools in deprived areas of Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire.

Andy Grout, Chief Executive of the Creative Playboat, says: "We're delighted to have reached the semi-finals of The National Lottery Awards. Lottery funding has helped us to purchase and develop our playboat, and offer more educational play opportunities to the community.  We're really hoping the public gets behind us and votes as it would be fantastic to get national recognition for the work that we do.”

Voting is already underway and ends at midday on Friday 18 June. To cast a vote for Creative Playboat Project call 0844 686 6619 or log on to www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards

The three projects in each category with the highest number of votes will go through to the final round of public voting in July.
