A woman's body has been found at a bungalow in Bletchley following a fire.

Firefighters from Bletchley, Broughton and Great Holm were called to the semi-detached property in Stour Close at 5.50pm on Tuesday evening.

The woman's body was found in the sitting room. She was declared dead at the scene.

Station Manager Geoff Bottle, who attended the incident, said: "An investigation is taking place to find out exactly what happened. This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died."

Thames Valley Police also went to the property at around 6.30pm.

Police say early indications are that the fire is not suspicious; but Scenes of Crimes Officers are working with Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause of the fire. Until then the death is being treated as unexplained.
