Christina Aguilera promises fantastic AMAs routine
Christina Aguilera says her performance at this weekend’s American Music Awards (AMAs) will be “fantastic”.
The pop star is just one of the A-list stars taking to the stage at the prestigious musical awards ceremony this Sunday, along with Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Kid Rock, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry.
Christina is thrilled about her performance, as although she’s made the transition into acting in new movie 'Burlesque', her heart will always remain with singing.
The star plays a small town girl who moves to Los Angeles to make it as a singer in the film, and her performance this weekend will make a nod to the cinematic venture.
"It's going to be fantastic," she said. "And it will give you a fitting little look inside the movie."
Christina is a little nervous about the upcoming spectacle though, as the raunchy burlesque-inspired dance routine she’ll be doing is rather different to the usual shapes she throws.
The singer is always keen to push herself to the limit though, and has toned up immensely during rehearsals. She’s channelled the spirit of her Burlesque character Ali Rose to prepare herself for the show.
"It will be another very new challenge for me...My legs have been incredibly sore as I stepped into the role of Ali for this,” she added.
