Hugh Laurie to record album

The House star signs album deal with WME

House star Hugh Laurie has signed a record deal with Warner's WME label to record a blues album with musicians from New Orleans.

The British actor can be often seen playing piano and guitar on the hit American show and is said to be delighted at the opportunity to record his own album.

Laurie, 51, will collaborate with producer Joe Henry, who has written songs for many stars, including Madonna.
