Macca wins top US award

Sir Paul McCartney is to be honoured with a major US award for his contribution to American culture.

The Beatles legend joins chat show host Oprah Winfrey among the five recipients of the annual Kennedy Center Honours.

He's being recognised for being an influential and successful songwriter and musician.

In June, Sir Paul collected the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song at the White House.
