Jackson's king once again

Michael Jackon makes history once more with new album

'Michael' Michael Jackson's latest effort, has entered the UK album charts at number 4, making it his fastest selling studio album in 20 years. It's the biggest opening week for a new Michael Jackson studio album in the UK since ‘Dangerous’ in 1991 and it's also Jackson's 19th to reach the UK Top 10.

The lead single, ‘Hold My Hand (Duet With Akon)’ extends Jackson’s incredible run of success to 55 UK Top 10 hits; his first being ‘I Want You Back’ in 1970.
The King Of Pop has had 9 UK No.1 albums and 9 UK No.1 singles so far.

HMV’s Gennaro Castaldo has commented:
"What was particularly evident this week was the large number of younger customers buying Michael's album in our stores. Michael's ability to inspire clearly remains undiminished, and I would say that we are witnessing the torch being passed on to a new generation of fans, who will continue to believe in the power of his music to ensure that his unique legacy remains secure."
