First image of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man released

Columbia Pictures have released the first image from the new Spider-Man film.

Anglo-American actor Andrew Garfield can be seen dressed as the superhero.

"The Social Network" star has taken over the role from Tobey Maguire, who'd played the title role in Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3.

Spider-Man is slated release in the UK in July 2012.
