Aylsham: Armed Robbery At Bank

Norfolk Police are investigating after an armed robbery at a bank in Aylsham this afternoon.

 

At approximately 2:20pm, three or possibly four men, one armed with a sledgehammer forced their way into the secure area of Barclays Bank and assaulted a member of staff.  They demanded money but are believed to have been unsuccessful and fled the scene in unknown vehicle/s.

A car fire has subsequently been reported at Hungate Street, officers are seeking to establish if this is linked to the robbery.
