Aylsham: Two Men Tasered After Brawl In Hotel

A man has been arrested and two people were tasered after police were called to a disturbance at a hotel in Aylsham last night, Friday 15 November.

Officers were called to the Aylsham Lodge Hotel at approximately 10.20pm after a staff member reported a fight had broken out after people attending a private party had been asked to leave.

Police arrived at the Norwich Road hotel to find about 50 people at the scene, with many becoming aggressive towards police.

Four officers were injured as police attempted to break-up the disorder and one officer was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment to a head injury caused by a glass while others suffered bruising.

Two men were tasered during the incident and 25-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer. The man was taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre where he remains in custody and will be questioned later today.

More than 20 officers were in attendance at the height of the incident which was brought under control by 10.50pm.

Police have launched an investigation and will be making follow-up enquiries today.
