Police are appealing for witnesses after a disused fish and chip shop was deliberately set on fire.

It happened between 7pm and 7.25pm last Thursday (22 May) at the former Mariners Fish and Chip take away on Nunns Way.

The blaze was started deliberately and led to substantial smoke and fire damage to the building.

Investigating officer, PC Craig Dixon, said: "The building is in the centre of Dereham and CCTV enquiries show a number of people in the area at the time of the incident so I’m keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously."

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Dixon at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
