Dereham: Pedestrian Dies on A47

A man's died after there was an incident on the A47 near to Dereham between two cars and a pedestrian.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision which took place in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 18 October 2012) near Dereham. 

At approximately 12:50am, a silver Peugeot 307, a yellow DAF lorry and a black Audi A4 were all heading towards Norwich on the A47.  Close to the slip road from A1075 Tavern Lane, the Peugeot and the Audi were in collision with a pedestrian who was in the eastbound carriageway.  

The pedestrian, a man believed to be in his 30s from the Dereham area, sadly received fatal injuries as a result of the incident. 

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information concerning it should contact SCIT on 101.  In particular, they would like to hear from anyone who saw a pedestrian in the carriageway between 12:30am and 1:10am.
