Four men die in Yarmouth work tragedy

An investigation has begun after four men were killed in a work accident in Yarmouth...

Four men have died in an industrial accident in Great Yarmouth.

Emergency services were called to Claxton Engineering in North River Road just before 2.30pm on Friday.

It's thought a steel structure fell on them. 

Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team and the Health and Safety Executive launched a joint investigation into the deaths.

Det Chief Inspector Neil Luckett said: ``This is a tragic event and we will be working closely with the HSE to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

``This may be a lengthy process. Our thoughts are with the families of the men who died today.''

Norfolk Constabulary said officers were in the process of informing family members.

A spokesperson for Claxton Engineering said: "The company is fully co-operating with the investigation.

``Everybody at Claxton is deeply saddened by what has occurred today and the company's thoughts and sympathy are with the families of the four men.''
