Detectives investigating a serious assault that lead to the death of 40-year-old Ian Church at the beginning of May have today arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
A 30-year-old man from the Great Yarmouth area remains at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre awaiting questioning.
Police were called at about 1.55am on Saturday 5th May 2012 to a disturbance outside the Bricklayers Arms pub on Nelson Road Central, Great Yarmouth. Officers arrived on scene to find a 40-year-old man with serious head injuries.
40-year-old Ian Church from Great Yarmouth died at the James Paget hospital a few days later.
Twenty-four-year-old Todd Esherwood from Saxon Road, Great Yarmouth and 29-year-old Tony Smith from Sidney Close, Great Yarmouth, both charged with grievous bodily harm with intent will next appear at Norwich Crown Court for a Plea and Case Management Hearing on Friday 10th August 2012.
A third man, arrested in connection with the incident, a 43-year-old, remains on bail pending further enquiries.
