Norfolk and Suffolk is bracing itself for what's being described as the worst flooding since 1953. 10,000 people are being evacuated from their homes.
Great Yarmouth: Murder Arrest
Detectives investigating a serious assault that lead to the death of 40-year-old Ian Church at the beginning of May have today arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
A 30-year-old man from the Great Yarmouth area remains at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre awaiting questioning.
Police were called at about 1.55am on Saturday 5th May 2012 to a disturbance outside the Bricklayers Arms pub on Nelson Road Central, Great Yarmouth. Officers arrived on scene to find a 40-year-old man with serious head injuries.
40-year-old Ian Church from Great Yarmouth died at the James Paget hospital a few days later.
Twenty-four-year-old Todd Esherwood from Saxon Road, Great Yarmouth and 29-year-old Tony Smith from Sidney Close, Great Yarmouth, both charged with grievous bodily harm with intent will next appear at Norwich Crown Court for a Plea and Case Management Hearing on Friday 10th August 2012.
A third man, arrested in connection with the incident, a 43-year-old, remains on bail pending further enquiries.
People living in approximately 1,000 properties on the Suffolk coastline are being encouraged to evacuate.
Parts of the Norfolk coast are now being evacuated ahead of expected coastal flooding tonight. 9,000 families are being asked to leave.
