Gt Yarmouth: Two Charged With Weapons Offences

Two 44-year-old men are due to appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court later charged following an incident in King Street in the town in the early hours of Wednesday 18th July.

Police were alerted by CCTV operators around 1.45am after they spotted what appeared to be a man with a machete. The two 44-year-olds were subsequently arrested and charged.

Paul Whittle of Crown Road in Great Yarmouth was charged with possession of an offensive weapon, namely a machete, while Simon French, of Albany Road in the town, was charged with possession of a knife blade/ sharp pointed article in a public place relating to the possession of a craft knife.

Both are charged to appear before Magistrates from 9.30am today.
