Hadleigh's Heart For Heroes

The families of soldiers still on tour in Afghanistan have decided to do a fundraiser to support those who have to deal with family members going way on tour.

They want people to come to Hadleigh in Suffolk today dressed up in red and wearing Santa hats to form a giant heart. An ariel photo will then be taking of it from a rescue helicopter.  It's taking place at a fund-raising day for Help for Heroes at the Hadleigh Cricket Ground, starting at 1pm.

Tracy Alexander is a wife of a soldier and is helping to organise it. She told Heart why they wanted to do it: "There are soldiers out there risking their lives, and when they come back they need recuperation. They need help to recover over mental and physical scars, as well as families, they need support as well."
