The Highways Agency are telling Heart they are not expecting a historical dig to delay work on the A11.

The section of road between Thetford to the Five-Ways roundabout is due to be turned into a dual carriageway from January 2013.

At the moment an archaeological dig taking place as part of advance work on the site. Flint workings from primitive tools dating back to 4,000BC and evidence of settlements dating back to 1,500BC have been discovered.

Highways say a survey was always part of their plans and they do not expect it to delay the building work in the new year.
