Ipswich: 19 Year Old Reports Sexual Assault

A 19 year old woman's reported being sexually assaulted while walking through a park in Ipswich.

It happened at around 3.30am on Friday (25th April) and was reported to police the following day.

She had been making her way home across Gippeswyk Park off Ancaster Road in Ipswich.

As she walked across the park in the direction of Campion Road at the top end of the park, near to the basketball courts, she noticed a man walking towards her.

The man called out to her, asking her where she was going, he then shouted out to her, to come home with him.

The man continued to shout out to her and then came up behind the victim and grabbed her backside with both hands, the victim pushed him away and walked off.

He then followed her again and grabbed her by the arms. A struggle ensued and the victim managed to free herself before running off.

The victim sustained scratches to her arm and shoulder.

The offender is described as a white man, around 40 years old, of skinny build and around 6ft tall. He spoke with a foreign accent and wore a burgundy hooded top with the hood up.
