Ipswich: Update On Rape Investigation

Police are releasing a description of a male offender after a woman reported being raped in Ipswich at the weekend.

Officers were alerted to the incident by the Town Pastors, as they had been approached by a member of the public who had spoken to a distressed woman.

The woman reported being raped by a man in an alleyway off a car park off Lower Brook Street at around 2.35am on Sunday (20th April).

The man is described as black, around 40 years old, between 5ft 10ins – 5ft 11ins tall, of average build, short and straight black hair, with a white/grey beard coming down from his side burns and a deep voice.

He was wearing a long sleeved dark blue denim top.

Police are also appealing to anyone who was outside the Best Kebab Shop on Dogs Head Street between 2am – 2:45am to come forward as they may have information that can help the investigation.

Officers would also like to speak with the woman who initially alerted the Town Pastors to the incident.
