Jail for Drugs Gang

Six men have today been sentenced following an investigation into an incident in Old Palace Road, Norwich at the beginning of June 2010.

Its after one man was stabbed to death and another shot in the head as they tried to break into a house.

The gang had raided a students home in Old Palace Road in Norwich to try and steal drugs.

Reece Smith, 25, of Dagenham, Essex pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob between 1 May and 4 June 2010 and was sentenced to 6 years in prison.

Nicholas Burton, 24, of Needham, London pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob between 1 May and 4 June 2010 and was sentenced to 5 years in prison.  

Michael Kelly, 25, of Dagenham, Essex pleaded guilty to assisting an offender to commit an indictable offence, between 1 May and 4 June 2010 and was sentenced to 15 months in prison.

Andrew McEvoy, 22, of Unthank Road, Norwich pleaded guilty to assisting an offender to commit an indictable offence, between 1 May and 4 June 2010 and was sentenced to 35 weeks in prison.

Karl Williams, 23, of Wanstead, London pleaded guilty to assisting an offender to commit an indictable offence, between 1 May and 4 June 2010 and was sentenced to 35 weeks in prison.

Sam Shaw, 24, of Cardiff Road, Norwich pleaded guilty to assisting an offender to commit an indictable offence, between 1 May and 4 June 2010 and was sentenced to 12 months community service.
