Police are asking anyone who was in the area of Kirkley Cliff Road around 11pm and11.45pm last night, Monday 3rd September, to come forward after a takeaway delivery driver was assaulted and robbed of food.

The driver went to Glenwood Court after a food order was placed for delivery to one of the flats there.

When the driver arrived he was met in the car park by a man described as white, in his late teens to mid 20s, of medium build with short blond hair with a side parting and wearing thick black rimmed glasses, a black jacket, shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.

The man told the driver he would fetch money to pay for the order and the driver followed the man into a back garden at the premises.

Two other men - both white and in their late teens to early 20s, one about 5ft 11ins tall, of stocky build and wearing a grey hooded top and white tracksuit bottoms and the other shorter at around 5ft 5ins - then appeared and assaulted the delivery driver before the food was snatched from him.

All three then fled towards the seafront.

The delivery driver, in his 30s, sustained a slight injury to his face in the incident.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the robbery or anyone with information about the men involved to call DC 948 Rogers at Lowestoft CID on 101.
