Man Assaulted With Hammer In Robbery

A man has been hit with a hammer during a robbery at the shop he was working in.

It happened at Stuart’s Newsagents on Hall Road in Norwich at around 9.20pm on Sunday night when a man entered the shop and began arguing with the manager before punching him.

The robber then approached the shop worker demanding money from the till before assaulting him with a hammer.

The worker  - who suffered minor injuries - managed to grab the hammer from the robber and chase him out of the shop.

Four packets of cigarettes were stolen and police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information concerning it.
